Based in Frisco, TX, Texas Card Shop, LLC is the business name that our founder’s Brian and Brittany Livingston settled on after their small business grew to the point that they needed to be better organized. With almost 50,000 items sold on their eBay stores with a 99.8%+ feedback rating, they are adding new items almost daily to eBay, their website and their Check Out My Cards (COMC) stores.
In 1983, Brian’s mother bought him his first pack of cards at The Old Ball Park in Oklahoma City setting off a lifetime love for sports cards. While he took breaks during college and in his early career he always returned to the hobby.
During his early teenage years (1987-1992), he would set up at shows with his father who while not a collector would use these shows to teach him business skills and spend quality time with him. Whether it was chasing the infamous 1989 Fleer Billy Ripken F-Face card, Greg Jefferies, Sam Horn or Kevin Maas they always had fun together. When Brian was 16 years old, his father financed the purchase of the inventory from a local card shop and made him pay him back from shows and selling to others.
On June 27, 2007, Brian’s father lost his battle with pancreatic cancer and Brian put up his childhood collection built with his dad and had left it intact. While financially it is not that significant, he considers it a priceless collection. After this, Brian would rip a few boxes every couple of months but was not very active in the hobby.
In 2019, Brian and Brittany started setting up at the small show that eventually turned into the Dallas Card Show and became active buyers of collections across the metroplex.
In early 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the nation, they decided to simplify their trading card business and shifted from the hassle of traveling to shows and lugging around the ever-expanding inventory to creating a strong online presence.
In March 2024, Texas Card Shop partnered with one of the top Whatnot sellers, case_hit_kings , to be our exclusive consignment partner to help us offer lower dollar cards and comic books to collectors in an efficient and timely manner. We hope to start having them break some of our higher end wax boxes from time to time to offer collectors a chance to buy into rarer wax boxes at affordable prices.
